Basile has two routines: One is for English-speaking audiences, the other is for Greeks. The New York native (whose family comes from Greece) says that if he merely performed his English act in Greek, most of the jokes would get lost in translation. “It’s not just cheap dick jokes, though,” he says. “But if I
do a dick joke, you can bet your ass it’s a
brilliant dick joke.” In addition to his comedy career, Basile recently started a line of his own seasonings and marinades. “Because when you’re named after a spice, where else do you go?” he says.
