Jesus Christ Superstar rises again. Blossom Music Center’s Porthouse Theatre has resurrected Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s hip-swiveling, hair-shaking musical about the Messiah’s last seven days on earth for a three-week run. “I am more excited about this show than I have ever been about any other production,” says director Terri Kent. She put her nationwide cast including William Clecker as the son of God through several
American Idol-like auditions before hiring them. “I was looking for Jesus,” she laughs, “and I found him in New York.”
