Monster Mash
Big Head Todd and the Monsters have always seemed a bit detached from their jam-band brethren. Most of frontman Todd Park Mohr’s tunes reveal their muscles early, usually sidestepping for a prolonged solo or two, before returning to the already-in-progress groove. The closest song they’ve had to a hit the slow-burning “Bittersweet” doesn’t sound like anything else in their catalog, but it does approach the jam-band scene’s mood-over-melody aesthetic.
