While guests munch on burgers and hot dogs, DJ Zachariah gets the party started with a set of funk-house music. A couple of hours later, DJ Random(seed) takes over the booth and spins techno. Hes followed by slabs of electronic dance music laid out by DJs Truck Stop Tourist Meets Mark Strauss. Stone N Leone man the tables at midnight. I used to be into a more soulful sound, says Stone. Unfortunately, not too many people in this area like it. They want more of a harder edge, because its for the working class.
Stone met Leone last year when they were moonlighting as break-dancers at Metropolis. When the DJs discovered they were both vinyl purists, they teamed up and joined the Love Thing Booming System DJ collective. Since then, Stone N Leone have tweaked their mixes to keep dance floors thumping all night long. If you see a couple people nodding their heads, you know somebodys enjoying it, and we go from there, says Stone. Its something we feed off of.
