Nothing says “Land of the free, home of the brave” like a full-grown man dressed entirely in shiny adhesive, marching down the street. Which is why the highlight of this weekend’s Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival will undoubtedly be tomorrow’s 10 a.m. parade.

Avon is the headquarters of Duck brand tape and the self-proclaimed duct-tape capital of the world, and it’s celebrating with plenty of sticky situations at this annual favorite. In addition to art and fashion shows (consisting entirely of duct-tape works), there’s plenty of rides, food, and many adhesive-related activities.

The fest will even pay tribute to Dad on Father’s Day, because, says festival committee member Heather Sefcik, “Most people have a story about their dad using duct tape to make repairs around the house.”
