Lantern Walks at Hale Farm and Village

Remember the class trip you took to Hale Farm to see how it was in the old days? Well, they have an experience for the holidays, where they turn back the clock to the 19th century to see how Christmas was done back then, and everyone participating gets to walk around with their own lantern at this reenactment village. It’s absolutely worth the drive out to Wooster for one of the most fun and idyllic Christmas tree farms around. Through Dec. 23, Playhouse Square’s annual Festival of Trees will be on display at the historic Allen Theatre. Local designers beautiful tree decorations are as festive and Cleveland as it gets. Peninsula is located right in the heart of beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park and that makes Heritage Farms and the drive there absolutely gorgeous. This Christmas tree farm recently made news when they decided to put giant teddy bears in some of their trees as part of a fundraising effort for rescue dogs. During the first weekend in December, they’ll put eight bears a day in trees for five consecutive days to give some lucky shoppers the most unique Christmas tree around. They’re open while supplies last.
