The Rhythm Is Gonna Get You

If you're downtown this weekend, watch out for people busting salsa and merengue moves. "This is one festival where you will see people actually dance in the streets," says Puerto Rican Festival and Parade event director Daisy Diaz. The family-friendly celebration features everything from Latin percussionists to head-spinning breakdancers. Music performers include Grupo Fuego, Luisito Carrion, and Paquito Guzman. Kids keep busy with carnival rides and face-painting, while grown-ups sample traditional eats as well as fair food. "We embrace other cultures too," says Diaz. It culminates at 2 p.m. tomorrow with a parade that starts at Cleveland Browns Stadium and makes its way down Lakeside Avenue to East Ninth Street.
July 22-23, 9 a.m.-10 p.m.
