So forget everything you’ve heard about the House of Blue’s swanky Foundation Room as being the only place to meet hot shots in Cleveland. Seems the best celebrity hang-out spot is the downtown Karma Yoga studio.
Last week, C-Notes discovered the entire Indians minor league team piling into the studio. Yesterday, many of the girls currently starring in Disney’s High School Musical on ice stopped by Karma for a session. Who knew yoga was so, well, hip?
The ice skaters, who are in town till next Monday (and who, do not, by the way, have Zac Efron’s phone number. Sorry girls), are very impressed by Cleveland. “We haven’t met one mean person yet,” one of the skaters — obviously from New York — exclaimed in amazement. (Sort of reminds you of that infamous 30 Rock episode, doesn’t it?)
The girls, who plan on taking yoga classes in every city they tour in (“It’s so relaxing!), raved about instructor Marni Task’s noon class. “I loved that she spoke in Sanskrit [the ancient Indian language],” one of them exclaimed. “Me too,” said a lithe brunette in a sports bra and leggings. “Though,” she paused, “I didn’t understand what any of it actually meant.” — Rebecca Meiser
