Proof Barbecue in Ohio City to Close on February 1

It’s been a bumpy road for the barbecue restaurant since opening in Tremont two days prior to Covid.

Finalists will be announced on April 1 and the winners will be crowned on June 15.

Management says that they are being pushed out of the building while it goes through ownership changes, but is intent on finding a new home.

Bar will open next month in the Creative Hangars complex.

The popular Tremont restaurant will debut a new food stand at Progressive Field in 2026.

This past summer, the owners partnered with Mendel Segal, who runs Mendel’s Kansas City BBQ next door.

Evan Laisure is taking his popular breakfast-and-lunch concept to the former El Tango Latin Grill space.

The modernized arcade is one of many improvements to the 114-year-old public market as part of a sweeping $70-million transformation project.

Billed as a Slovenian-infused Mardi Gras festival, the celebration hosts annual crowds in the thousands.

The goal is to be open by Valentine’s Day

No immediate changes are planned, but new games and entertainment are in the works.
