Some 60 bands competed in this year’s 17th annual High School Rock Off but only 18 graduated to the finals, appropriately dubbed The Final Exam, which take place tonight at the House of Blues. While bands had 25 minutes to win over judges during the six preliminary rounds that took place throughout January, they’ll only get 15 minutes tonight. And the competition should be tougher as the bands on tonight’s bill will play a bit of everything, including hip-hop, jazz and rock. The show will culminate with a special performance by The School of Rock and winners will be announced just before 11 p.m. (Jeff Niesel)
