Roots Rocker

Singer Mike Farris plays a mix of blues rock that stems from his "misspent youth" and the soul and gospel music that he loves. His latest album just won a Grammy for Best Roots Gospel Album. For the music video for "Power of Love," he sits in a church and belts the song out. It's an appropriate setting as his music has that kind of power. He plays tonight at 7 at Mechanic Street House Concerts, a concert series held at a private home. The Mechanic Street folks are asking for $20 suggested donation, which all goes to the artist. When you buy your tickets online in advance, you'll get information on the Ohio City house's address. (Niesel) mechanicstreetmusic.com.
