Annual Akron Ale Fest Returning in August

Cleveland breweries get all the attention, but Akron has a great beer scene too. Following last year’s inaugural Akron Ale Fest, organizers have announced the annual Akron Ale Fest will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Trolley Barn downtown.

It will include craft breweries from “greater Akron and beyond.” The event will also feature a variety of food trucks and beer-themed merch from local artists.

Akron-based breweries such as Thirsty Dog Brewing Co., Hoppin Frog Brewery and Ohio Brewing Co. will be on hand as will HiHO Brewing, Wadsworth Brewing Company and Magic City Brewing Company. Regional breweries such as the Butcher & the Brewer and Birdfish Brewing Co. plan to participate as well.

Tickets, which cost $45, are on sale now at akronalefest.com. The price of admission includes a tasting glass and 20 tickets for beer samples. Designated Driver tickets are also available.

Located within stumbling distance, Courtyard by Marriott features a package deal that includes tickets along and a hotel room.
