[image-1] This past weekend, Burgers 2 Beer unexpectedly closed its Lakewood location (14725 Detroit Rd.) after two years in business. Elie Chamoun, founder of the popular burger chain, says the owner, who is a franchisee, fell behind on rent and never recovered. He is in talks to negotiate a rent reduction in hopes of reopening the restaurant under corporate control.

Meanwhile, locations in Highland Heights, now going on 10 years, Solon and Concord Township, will soon be joined by a new shop in Independence. Look for Burgers 2 Beer to open in the former Mavis Winkle’s Irish Pub (5005 Rockside Rd.) in the first quarter of 2019.
