[image-1] ClusterTruck appeared to be on a tear. Since launching two years ago in Indianapolis, this tech-driven food-delivery startup added locations in Bloomington, Columbus, Denver, Kansas City and Cleveland, which debuted last November.
For now, at least, the company has ceased operations in Cleveland (and Minneapolis). Customers who attempt to place an order receive the following message:
“We are currently closed. Thank you Cleveland! It has been a privilege to serve you and we are incredibly grateful of your support and feedback in the past few months. We have some things we need to work on, so we are unable to serve you at this time but we look forward to returning, hopefully sooner rather than later!”
As I wrote in my initial review of the concept, ClusterTruck “seeks to outdo all other food delivery outfits by employing one key tactic: they prepare their own food. Typical third-party delivery drivers are dispatched to a restaurant, where they have to park, walk inside, and grab an order that might have been waiting for them to arrive. Thanks to intelligent proprietary technology, ClusterTruck drivers are summoned to land the moment the food is ready. A super-tight delivery zone ensures that no journey is longer than 10 minutes from the company’s kitchen on the eastern edge of downtown.”
As of now, inquiries to the company regarding any possible future operations have been unanswered. We’ll update this page if/when it does.
