Danny Boy’s Italian Eatery, which launched in Rocky River in 1991, will open its first downtown location. When it debuts in the former Green Rooster Farms space in the Hanna Building, the new eatery will join Danny Boy’s shops in Sandusky, Canton, Broadview Heights, Tallmadge and North Olmsted
The Playhouse Square location, however, will have a modern twist: “A fresh new look made for the city,” according to Danny Boy’s.
“We could not be more excited to pull back the curtain on our newest venture,” says Tamaira Price, Danny Boys Pizza Co. Director of Operations. “We believe Playhouse Square can be more than a place you visit for a show. We love the district and want to help make it a place where you come to eat, hang out, and stay awhile, whether there’s a show on the schedule or not. Our goal is to bring new energy and new faces to the neighborhood.”
Danny Boy’s Downtown (2033 E. 14th St.) will serve lunch, dinner and late-night crowds. It is expected to open in early 2027.
“Danny Boys Pizza Co. has been a mainstay in the Northeast Ohio community for more than 30 years, and we are thrilled that they have chosen the Playhouse Square District for their first Downtown Cleveland location,” said Craig Hassall, Playhouse Square CEO. “Danny Boys will not only provide more dining options for workers, residents and visitors to Playhouse Square, it also will add to the vitality of our animated downtown district as we continue to expand our offerings Beyond the Stage.”
