Walnut Wednesdays are a treasured reprieve from homemade peanut butter sandwiches for folks who work downtown. This Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. is the last chance to catch the event until next spring.

For the uninitiated, trucks gather at Perk Plaza at Chester Commons, one of the few green spaces downtown. This week’s event will include live music and 19 — count ’em 19! —different food trucks to choose from.

Be sure to check out Betty’s Bomb Ass Burgers with unique burger options from corned beef to mushroom burgers, and vegan and vegetarian options. Café Arnon specializes in flatbread sandwiches and Italian coffee, including affogato and cold-brew floats. Stop by the Donut Lab or Sweet! The Mobile Cupcakery to treat-yo-self to some dessert. Food truck season doesn’t last forever, folks. Find them at East 12th and Walnut.
