Just in time for O.A.R.’s summer tour, Great Lakes Brewing Co. has announced the upcoming release of a collaboration beer with the rock band.

Called The Mighty Lager, after the band’s newest release, The Mighty, the final product is billed as a “light, smooth sessionable amber” with a 4.5 percent ABV.

Members of the band hunkered down with Great Lakes brewmasters earlier this year to perfect the malty recipe, and this month, they were just back in town helping to brew.

“We set out to create a very drinkable beer that everyone can enjoy, especially with friends,” explained saxophonist/guitarist Jerry DePizzo in a statement. “The Mighty Lager is certainly worthy of the name, and perfect for the tailgate, backyard barbecue and summertime concert. The only thing better than the beer at Great Lakes Brewing is the people who make it.”

The limited-time beverage gets its Northeast Ohio release next month in 16-ounce can 4-packs, and will also be available at some of the band’s summer tour stops.

O.A.R. performs in Cleveland at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica Tuesday, June 25, with American Authors.
