When Melt closed its Avon location last year, Fadi Daoud, who owns Hecks Café next door, decided to grab the property for himself. Daoud opened the westside location of his popular burger bar a decade ago and the space no longer suited his needs.

“It kind of made sense to us,” he explains. “We’re outgrowing the space. Business is great, we just need a bigger space.”

Work began in September to convert the former Melt restaurant into the new Avon location of Hecks. That work has been completed and the restaurant is ready to shift into the new space. Late last month, Daoud shuttered the old Hecks and this Thursday, he will open the doors to the new Hecks.

The move buys Daoud more space all around, including a private dining room and all-season patio with garage doors.

The restaurant joins Hecks locations in Ohio City and Beachwood and Antica Italian locations in Avon and Beachwood.
