In an announcement posted to Mustard Seed social media followers, CEO Gabe Nabors broke the news that the 20-year-old Solon based health food store would be shutting down for good on Wednesday, October 30th. The Akron stores will continue to operate.
Here is the statement:
“I am sad to announce that we are closing our Solon location effective Wednesday, October 30th, 2019. When my family opened the Solon store, we had high expectations. It was the largest natural foods grocery store east of the Mississippi, and the natural foods industry was having double digit growth. Unfortunately, the store did not develop as we had hoped and today with the increased competition both in brick and mortar stores as well as online, our time has come. My family wishes to give a sincere thank you to our Solon staff, the Solon community and to the thousands of customers that helped us these past 20 years to push health foods to the mainstream. Our Akron locations remain strong and continue to grow and thrive along with our cafes, catering services, and our online initiative Hempluxe.com, which offers our nationally launched line of CBD products.”
