Spring is finally here and the North Union Farmer’s Market is back for its 10th season at Crocker Park. A wide array of vendors will be on hand selling everything from local, organic produce and meats to honey, preserves and baked goods. You can also purchase plants you can take home to start your own organic garden. This year’s new location is across from Dick’s Sporting Goods. There are many signs that spring has sprung, but few are as organic as the North Union Farmers Market at Shaker Square’s annual shift from indoors to outdoors. That switch takes place this Saturday, April 2nd at 8 a.m., when the beloved market officially ushers in its 21st season.
As is tradition, the outdoor market season kicks off with the annual blessing of farms and farmers followed by the ever-popular sheep shearing demos. In addition to all the usual locally grown produce, meat and dairy products, bakers will be selling artisan breads and pastries, chefs will be doing cooking demos and live music will provide the backdrop to it all.
The market is held at Shaker Square from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturdays from April 2nd through December 17th, 2016.
