These guidelines are designed, says the Governor, to marry the science and practicality of that particular industry.
These guidelines include but are not limited to a floor plan that mandates parties of 10 or less, with parties separated by six feet or a physical barrier such a tall booth back or Plexiglas. This is in place of a strict occupancy-percentage as anticipated.
Public waiting areas will be altered or eliminated.
Customers will be asked to self-monitor for symptoms.
Employees will largely be required to wear masks, but with exceptions for some positions.
Bars represent a unique challenge, but they will not be treated differently from restaurants. If you have tables and chairs and can comply with the restaurant guidelines, you can participate in the reopening.
Lt. Gov. Jon Husted noted that the Ohio Restaurant Association wanted strict standards and policies and for those to be enforced so that all employees and customers feel safe.

All this for a chance to pay $14 for a glass of wine, $10 for a salad, and $28 for an entrée??? No thanks!!!
Finally! Can’t wait to hear what people have to say about this one. Now its not me begging that we do open up but now are actually open and can’t wait to hear what people hate about this and how angry everyone is and how wrong everything is.
Or bc its now open from the government, is it ok and fine that its open?
This is ridiculous it’s obviously to early to open everything up, the government is just throwing us to the wolves for greed and corruption this is bs and they know it thanks DeWine you just signed my death warrant !!!
No body is forcing you to go out, stay home. Those of us that do be smart and safe. Lets prove these bastards wrong.
What a fantastic idea when the only thing that has actually changed since the beginning of this thing is that more people, not less, have become infected. Thus more asymptomatic carriers, thus a second wave is inevitable.
If you can stay home, please do and I wish those with no choice but to go out all the luck in the world. You’re going to need it because clearly the people in charge only care about either making cash or placating the douchebag morons in their own party, at the expense of those with the least, as it always is and has been.
@Liesandthosewhoprofitfrom them – what is the alternative? Do you think we should stay home until we have a cure? (min 1.5 years) or do you think we will eventually have to open at some point? You are correct that more people have become infected. Millions will be infected but like you said, millions will be asymptomatic carriors.
If that is the case, what is your idea? Just stay home and literaly wait until what? There is no other option. We are going to be living with COVID forever (until/if there is a vaccine).
My idea is not to argue/debate/discuss anything with a guy who would name himself after the kind of idiot who would attempt to patent Taco Tuesday, when he clearly didn’t invent or even popularize the phrase.
I’m kidding of course, well at least about the not discussing it part. Do I have a better idea? Not really, to be perfectly honest. We’re in uncharted territory here for the most part and I’m neither a virologist or a social scientist. My only idea would be to listen to those who know something about the situation at hand, not the moron in the White House and to be honest with ourselves about who and what are going to be sacrificed for the bottom line. It will be, hands down, those whose livelihoods demand that they come out of the house, for whatever reason. A recent study in the San Francisco bay area found that 90% of the people in that area who tested positive had just one thing in common: the inability to work from home.
My only other thought is that this is way too soon, the fact that we still can’t test all the people who need to be tested coupled with the lack of any kind of overarching contact tracing program does not bode well. The lack of consistent leadership and information from those in the federal government is also a huge problem. Put all of that together and I predict that it’s only a matter of time before a second round of shelter in place orders go out and we recognize what some of us, including many health care professionals, have seen from the beginning of all this open it back up talk: an unmitigated disaster in the making brought about by nothing more than politics and the incessant greed of those at the top.
I just call em like I see em…
