The chef’s animated personality is as much beloved and sought after as his Turkish food. All will be on display come Tuesday, October 15, at Blu, the Restaurant (3355 Richmond Rd., 216-831-5599). Attendees will be treated to a multi-course meal that will include feta cheese rolls, braised artichoke shakshuka, roasted lamb and rice, almond pudding and baklava.
Of that lamb and rice dish, Wells writes, “Lokanta’s ‘roasted lamb and rice’ is in the pilaf family, which means that the rice is not just a side dish but the heart of the recipe, baked until alluringly sweet with currants, allspice and cinnamon, then sprinkled with fresh dill at the last minute. The lamb’s job is to be obligingly tender, and it succeeds, one reason the dish is requested by so many tables.”
The evening kicks off at 7 p.m. and costs $80 per person (tip not included) or $110 with wine pairings.
