Sad news to report from Asiatown: Sichuan Hot Pot will close its doors after service tomorrow. Since opening in 2019, the restaurant has become a beloved staple on Cleveland’s Old Chinatown block on Rockwell. The restaurant was reviewed in Scene the year it opened.

“Business is slow,” said a staffer.

What the restaurant lacked in elegance or panache it more than made up for in flavor, value and consistency. Since opening, the restaurant has been joined by newcomer Spice Spring on the very same block.

For the restaurant’s many faithful fans, there is hope that the owners will pursue another location. If that happens, we will report the news here.
