“For years we’ve presented our Sunday Classic brunch and movie series at the Capitol,” says Jonathan Forman, Cleveland Cinemas President, in a press release. “Since not everyone’s schedule allowed them to make a Sunday morning show and we are now serving cocktails at our concession stand, we thought it was a great time to mix things up. Our new series takes place in the evening so it will be a great way for people to unwind with a drink and a classic movie after a day at the office.”
The series commences with a screening of the Coen Brothers’ flick Fargo, a dark comedy about a car salesman who botches a fake kidnapping of his wife and suffers the consequences. It screens at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27. The happy hour reception begins at 6 p.m. Cha Spirits and Pizza Kitchen will provide the food. The series continues with screenings of The Sting (Feb. 24) and Network (March 23). Toast will provide food for The Sting screening, and Luxe Kitchen and Lounge will provide food for the Network screening.
Tickets to all films in the series are $8 in advance or $10 day of show. Tickets go on sale 30 days before the date of the screening and are available at the Capitol Theatre box office or online at clevelandcinemas.com.
