Cinemark Theatres' No Large Bag Policy Starts Tomorrow

Starting tomorrow, Cinemark Theatres locations across the country are cracking down on bag size.

The company announced in a statement that in an effort to keep employees and guests safe, no bags larger than 12" x 12" x 6" will be allowed. There are exceptions for diaper bags and medical equipment, of course.

Following the 2012 Auroa, Colorado, movie theater shooting, and other subsequent mass shootings, the new policy is in line with theater and concert venues around America.

For those worried the new bag proportions are too small, go ahead and check out this NFL-approved clear plastic tote bag that is the exact maximum size right here. Clearly, that's still plenty of space to sneak in candy or sealed water bottles, not that we would condone such a thing.

Cinemark has locations in Valley View, Strongsville, Macedonia and more. All bags, regardless of size, are subject to searches on Cinemark property.
