Movie Critic Joe Bob Briggs to Speak at the Capitol Theatre in October

Known as “America’s foremost drive-in movie critic,” Joe Bob Briggs has published books such as Joe Bob Goes to the Drive-In, A Guide to Western Civilization, or My Story, Joe Bob Goes Back to the Drive-In, The Cosmic Wisdom of Joe Bob Briggs and Iron Joe Bob over a career that dates back decades.

The Capitol Theatre has just announced that Briggs will present his latest lecture, How Rednecks Saved Hollywood, at 7:30 pm. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Using more than 200 clips and stills, Briggs will review the history of rednecks in America as told through both exploitation and mainstream movies.

Tickets cost $22.50 in advance, $27.50 at the door.
