In the past, fans of the terrific British rock act Arctic Monkeys have had to drive to Columbus or Detroit to see the band. Aside from the time it opened for the Black Keys at Quicken Loans Arena, the group has usually bypassed Northeast Ohio. Not this time around. Arctic Monkeys are slated to play on June 22 at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica with openers White Denim. Tickets are $35. They go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Jeff has been covering the Cleveland music scene for more than 25 years now. On a regular basis, he tries to talk to whatever big acts are coming through town. And if you're in a local band that he needs to hear, email him at jniesel@clevescene.com.

  1. There could be a feature story in the (tax? other?) fine art of so many tours bypassing the area.

  2. Great to hear that another band has decided to stop out to Cleveland as opposed to passing us by. I wonder if the food scene and all the press about our neighborhoods drew them?

  3. Not sure I ever believed they would end up playing in Cleveland. My favorite band of the last 10 years, I’m so pumped for this show. Alex Turner is a song writing genius, wish I could of seen them playing more of their earlier stuff.
