Concert Photos: Alison Krauss Travels Through Award-Winning Career at Jacobs Pavilion

Multi-Grammy winner Alison Krauss accompanied her band Union Station into Cleveland last night to play a fairly-long set at Jacobs Pavilion on a cool late summer evening.

Krauss, the winner of 27 Grammys, has only been surpassed by Beyonce (with 28) as the female artist with the most wins. Winning her first Grammy at age 20, she was the second-youngest artist to achieve the music industry’s most prestigious award.

Celebrating the stop in the 216 on her “Arcadia” tour, both she and the band were in fine form. The audience skewed to an older crowd, which were all seated in the GA area. Krauss came out with the band and they immediately dove into the 34-song set list.

Over the last two decades, she’s released two very well-received and successful albums with Robert Plant, frontman of Led Zeppelin. An odd pairing, for sure, but their collaboration was lauded by fans and critics alike. Sadly, their tour stop here a few years ago was scuttled due to the enormous amount of wildfire smoke drifting down from Canada.

Former Old Crow Medicine Show member Willie Watson opened with a short set with accompaniment by a violinist.
