Concert Photos: Jessie Murph Brought the Sex Hysteria to Jacobs Pavilion

Twenty-year old ingenue Jessie Murph stopped by Jacobs Pavilion with her “Worldwide Hysteria” tour on a beautiful Monday evening to give several thousand fans a taste of her new album Sex Hysteria.

The line to get into the venue stretched far past the Powerhouse and into the street. Adding to the chaos was a women’s tennis event, which took up a large part of the main parking lot in the West Bank of the Flats. Once the gates were opened, the youngish crowd eagerly trotted into the GA section, which was standing room only.

Murph played the Agora less than a year ago and, while well-attended, didn’t match the zeal (and decibel-level) of last night’s attendees. Jacobs is more than twice the capacity of the Agora; she could have easily packed a larger venue.

Offering up close to twenty-five tunes, the majority of them came from the new album. Her style is tough to pigeonhole; elements of hip-hop, pop, and a dose of Country twang are all mixed together in a textured bouillabaisse forming a fairly unique sound.

Young rapper Jorjiana opened the show with a short set. Hailing from Indiana, she has amassed a large social media presence. In October of 2024 she released her debut single, “ILBB2,” which impressed rapper Glorilla, who covered the tune earlier this year. Subsequent singles such as “Idk,” and “Fast Money” have put her into a breakout role in 2025, building a large fanbase in a relatively short period of time.
