Ohio native and smooth crooner John Legend took to Blossom’s stage on Thursday night for what turned out to be a storm-shortened show. Accompanied by the Cleveland Orchestra, the gig was billed “An Evening with John Legend.” Starting out with anecdotes from his youth, Legend mentioned being raised in a musical family in a strict Pentecostal household. He said by those definitions, he was “definitely going to hell for singing just the first two songs” of the show.
About four songs into their set, the weather started to take a horrible turn, and the pavilion attendees were told to shelter in place. The lawn, already, had started to clear. Soon, the concert was postponed.
Legend later apologized to his fans and promised to reschedule the concert soon, hopefully before the end of this summer season.
