A new incarnation of Cleveland’s legendary Euclid Tavern (11629 Euclid Tavern, University Circle, 216-231-7066) opened last weekend. The first week was a low-profile one, climaxing with a Friday night set by the expert Grateful Dead emulators of the JiMiller Band, a mainstay at the bar from 1981 until ’87, when Joan Jett and Michael J. Fox breezed into town and filmed some of the rock movie Light of Day there. By night’s end, the tables were cleared, and the dance floor was open — and packed. …

  1. There very well may still be a bag of grass in aforementioned brick column in mens pisser. Went down there to roll one during show in early-mid 1990s and set the bag on the column and whoosh it fell inside the column and was irretrievable. Thankfully had more in the car. Bands were some local hard rockers….

  2. Boy does this bring back memories from the 70’s. Somehow I survived. I do remember getting in the car parked on Euclid one night and thankfully deciding I’d had way to many beers to drive. When I woke up on the front seat about 6 AM, it was 12 degrees I think. Sure was glad I had that down jacket on. And the car started!
