The Hip Hope Perseverance Awards will be recognize Cleveland hip-hop and R&B pioneers Saturday, February 10 at the Cuyahoga Community College Metro Campus Auditorium (2900 Community College Ave). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. The Hip Hope Perseverance awards recognizes artists using hip-hop and urban music as a positive outlet.
Silver B Richards will host the awards, which feature performances by R&B singer Seven, gospel rapper Ladie Smith, soul-R&B group sounds of the Delphonix, and others. Cleveland Entertainment Coalition and Living Waters Campus Ministries sponsors the event.
An after-party will be held at A Better Place (815 Superior Ave. Cleveland), doubling as a release party for Seven’s “Hustle” single. Also performing will be E&J of Ghetto Wsdom and spoken-word artist Ras Solo. Admission is only $5 with proof of attending Hip Hope Awards, $15 without.
