Meet the Band:
Photon Man (vocals) and Oblivion (everything else).
Hair Trigger: Galactic Moustache play a mix of hip-hop, rock, and electronica. The band’s influences — including Ween, Grand Buffet, and Gwar — help explain their often funny stage show and wild theatrics.
Behind the Curtain: Looking past their secret identities (which they tote with them everywhere), Photon Man and Oblivion are just regular dudes who bonded over similar interests. “We grew up together, didn’t have a lot of friends, loved skateboarding, hip-hop, and punk-rock music,” says Photon Man. “[We] eventually started a band in a desperate attempt to thwart a quarter-life crisis.”
Sweet ‘Stache: The duo has released two EPs so far — Star Seed and From Monkey to Moustache — and both of them are available for free on their website. According to Photon Man, their first album is due in 2012, “just in time for the Mayan apocalypse.”
Tapeheads: Galactic Moustache post all kinds of random videos online — everything from self-made music clips to goofy skits.
