We’re still not sure how we feel about the
Breeders’
Mountain Battles. It’s a tough listen, especially since many of the songs lack any sort of melody. A lot of them don’t really seem to go anywhere. Still, it’s an intriguing listen – an alt-rock lullaby that sorta takes stock of the band’s last eight years.
The band’s history is one filled with turbulence. Kim Deal originally formed the Dayton group while in the Pixies. After those post-punk heroes broke up in 1993, Kim recruited twin sister Kelley and a few pals and got serious about the Breeders. Later that year, they released
