“We knew we had the opportunity to bring something unique and different to Cleveland,” says managing partner Mike Miller in a press release about the anniversary. “We took an old-fashioned concept of ‘dinner and a show’ and made it fresh and new again. We really pride ourselves on the range of national touring acts, as well as local acts we’ve presented in the past four years. We feel we’ve had a positive impact on the concert and restaurant scene in Cleveland. But we couldn’t have done it without the support of our fans. We couldn’t be prouder.”
Over the past four years, the venue has hosted acts such as X, Steve Earle, Cracker, Lucinda Williams, Los Lobos, Preservation Jazz Hall Band, Macy Gray and Trevor Hall.
The four-year anniversary party that takes place at the club on Friday will feature performances by the Bob Seger Tribute act Katmandu and the ragtime jazz act Blaire Crimmins & the Hookers. In addition, a late night variety show hosted by Cleveland’s “tallest” drag entertainer, Veranda L’Ni, will feature entertaining drag, cabaret, and comedy.
Music Box will also sell discounted concert tickets during the month of August. A list of August shows with limited $4 tickets can be found here.
