Last night, a sold-out House of Blues crowd welcomed singer Elmiene as the next leg of his “Songs for Someone” tour kicked off right here in Cleveland. With support from opener Jahson Paynter, the UK native wowed the packed house with his unique brand of soul-stirring R&B. Elmiene performed fan favorites spanning his projects to date, such as “Mad at Fire,” “Reclusive,” and “Someday.” His set also included a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon in the Sky” and a rendition of the late D’Angelo’s “Untitled” that brought the house down and even brought a few fans in the front row to tears. Last night’s show was a real treat if you are a fan of true soul music, and yet another indicator that R&B as a genre is alive and thriving. Catch up on all the action below.
