Singer-songwriter Nick Wilkinson currently lives in Chicago and plays the open mic circuit with his band the Featured Players, but his roots are in Northeast Ohio. He’s just announced that his original band members from group will reunite for a special show on Friday, Aug. 22, at Jilly’s Music Room in Akron.

Rye Valley’s Brett Auerbach and Akron rockers First Days of Spring will open.

“We’ve been trying to get this together for a few years,” says frontman Nick Wilkinson in a press release. “But we’re back and we’re bringing the same energy you’d expect.”

The band’s latest release is the environmentalist anthem “My Sister is Bigfoot,”  which features former Barenaked Lady Steven Page and Milwaukee power-pop group Telethon.
