Tom Morello confirmed to Rolling Stone today that his new supergroup, Prophets of Rage, will “be rocking furiously in and around the RNC” in Cleveland.

Prophets of Rage was announced as a band just recently, and they’re rounded out by former Rage Against the Machine members Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk and Morello; Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real.

“Well there’s a thing called the Republican National Convention in July, and that will be a perfect place for a band like Prophets of Rage to cause a ruckus, and we will be there on the streets, in the field,” Morello told the magazine. “We have a venue and there may be venues that will be spontaneous venues; it’s hard to say. This is the kind of thing you don’t broadcast to the local authorities prior to arrival.

“Dangerous times demand dangerous songs,” Morello said.

  1. Where is the Weather Underground when you really need them?
Maybe they can have a reunion concert in Cleveland next month.
Their greatest album: “Days of Rage” (first released in Chicago, in October ’69)

Their lead singer was the unforgettable Bernadine Dohrn… (Bernie! Bernie!)
She appeared at KSU on May Fourth, a few years back…still quite foxy at almost 70.
Made Grace Slick look like a boy.
    Feel the Bern!

  2. Been told the group is staying at the motel at 36th and Euclid and is being supported by the owner of the Cleveland Agora and that is the place they will be playing at the Agora. Just a perfect thing to start up riots in Cleveland by a Cleveland business. The Agora has lost my business

  3. The more I hear about them, the more they sound like a joke. Bunch of nobodies and wannabees. Meh.

  4. Love how one dude is saying that the Agora lost his business. What a joke. Why do you care? Its going to start a riot? How? Its a music venue hosting a music group period. People like you are the reason a reality tv show host is the presidential front runner. Prophets of rage will also be walking around and doing impromptu shows all around downtown because of the RNC. Are you going to boycott downtown too? Its sounds stupid right? Just like boycotting a business for doing business.
