New York-based singer-guitarist Paul Collins has just announced tour dates for the spring that bring him and his backing band, the Beat, to Cleveland on April 27 for a show at the Happy Dog. 

One added feature to the US dates will be a Record Fair/Happy Hour with DJ concept that Collins launched last year. For the Happy Dog show, My Mind’s Eye Records and Square Records will be on hand to sell vinyl records and DJ the event.

“I have staged these events all over the country and this will be our second time doing it in Cleveland,” says Collins in a press release. “Including local record stores and local bands make our shows more of a community event celebrating rock ’n’ roll music and records. This has been the single best idea to get the shows to be more fun and bring people out earlier so the opener can play to a crowd.” 

The tour will also involve up and coming bands on every stop. “We love to support all the new bands that are popping up everywhere!” adds Collins, a veteran performer who launched his career way back in 1974.
