Local singer-songwriter Ryan Humbert has just announced the details for his 11th annual Ryan Humbert Holiday Extravaganza that’ll return to the Akron Civic Theatre for three cabaret performances on Dec. 10, 11 and 12 to benefit the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank.

These special performances will feature Humbert’s terrific honky tonk band the Shootouts as well as the alt-country group the HawtThorns and local singer-songwriter Gretchen Pleuss. A different surprise guest will appear at each performance.

This year’s show will feature a blend of holiday classics and songs from the Shootouts’ debut album Quick Draw, which spent over nine weeks on the Americana Radio Album Chart this past summer.

“The Shootouts have had a great year, and we’re looking forward to bringing this exciting show to the Civic stage,” says Howard Parr, Executive Director of the Akron Civic, in a press release about the event. “To bring authentic live music to downtown Akron — and to do so to raise funds for the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank — is a win-win for everyone.”

During each performance, the Foodbank will be collecting non-perishable food donations to help those in need.

“The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is honored to be the beneficiary for Ryan Humbert’s 11th annual Holiday Extravaganza,” says Dan Flowers, President & CEO of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. “It’s community support and generosity like this event that allows the Foodbank to continue providing meals for the families in our region who struggle with hunger. During the holidays, everyone deserves to share a heartwarming meal with their loved ones and your Foodbank is here to help make that happen.”

Akron AAA Auto Club, Associated Underwriters Insurance, FirstEnergy and The Summit WAPS-FM are the official sponsors of the Holiday Extravaganza.
Tickets are $20 for general admission or $35 for two (date night special).
