It’s been more than 30 years since the Indigo Girls independently released their first single, “Crazy Game,” and launched a successful career as folk singers who’re known for their pristine vocal harmonies.

Band members Emily Saliers and Amy Ray have a friendship that goes all of the way back to elementary school and were already working on their first songs together by high school. The band regularly visits Northeast Ohio; it will perform at the Kent Stage at 8 p.m. on July 22. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. tomorrow at kentstage.org. You can also order tickets by calling 877-987-6487.

Jeff has been covering the Cleveland music scene for more than 25 years now. On a regular basis, he tries to talk to whatever big acts are coming through town. And if you're in a local band that he needs to hear, email him at jniesel@clevescene.com.
