- Chuck Mosley cares. A lot.
Radio 92.3 WKRK will throw a benefit concert for Haiti on February 6 at the Factory (1385 East 36th St). Seven of the biggest names in Northeast Ohio music will perform.
Program director Dominic “Nard” Nardella says he had the idea for a benefit while watching graphic news footage featuring rubble left after the earthquake hit Haiti a couple weeks ago.
“I thought, What can we do as a radio station?,” he says. “We have to do something. What do we do best at Radio 92.3? Music. I threw it out there. The response was overwhelming.”
Local-music showcase Inner Sanctum hosts Pat “the Producer” Johnson and Matt Wardlaw helped recruit Chuck Mosley, Leah Lou, Leo, Random Stereo, 2nd Half, the Suede Brothers and This Is A Shakedown for the show.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is $5. Proceeds benefit the Red Cross.
“We have a great relationship with the Red Cross,” says Nardella. “Their reputation is second-to-none. And when it comes to helping people all over the world, they are always there.”
