Recorded at RCR Recording Studios, the album represents Tropidelic’s second release in partnership with Ineffable Music Group, and the band aims to build the momentum of its last album, Heavy is the Head, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Reggae Chart in 2017.
The album features special guest Jonny 5 of Flobots and the Palmer Squares.
“Flyover Renaissance, to me, is for people who are overlooked. It’s easy to feel insignificant in a big world, especially when you don’t live in a destination city,” says singer-trombone player James Begin in a press release. “I think this is where the name of the album came from; there’s a difference between feeling like a loser and being one. And that’s your decision to make.”
The group brings the Freak Drop, its annual New Year’s Eve bash, to House of Blues on Dec. 31. Bumpin Uglies, Palmer Squares, Joey Harkum and Toby will open the show
“We tour extensively throughout the year. After spending most of the fall on a national tour, we are excited be back in Cleveland,” says singer-guitarist Matthew Roads. “There’s nowhere we would all rather be on New Year’s than playing for a hometown crowd.”
