A Garfield Heights resident was cited earlier this morning after a 4-foot alligator was discovered at his home sometime yesterday.

According to Ed Jamison, the animal warden, complaints prompted an investigation, which led to Thursday’s discovery in the 8900 block of McCracken, Fox 8 News reports.

The reptile was removed from the home and is now en route to the Department of Agriculture in Reynoldsburg, OH. Eventually, our scaley friend will end up at a rescue farm in South Carolina.

Here are some photos from the rescue, courtesy of the City of Garfield Heights.

  1. how dare u put this on here. there was only one complaint that came from a neighbor and reported the gator but yet he has a wolf which in time is gonna go for blood tests to see if it is a hybrid, since when do they the word of someone that can say anything. people got hurt by this, he was like any other animal in a household.

  2. First of all, alligators are not pets. You sound as if you ate upset that a family pet wad removed. Think about the life for the gator. In a tank or whatever in someones home is not the natural habitat for this animal. It needs a large area of land and much much more water to swim in. It needs to learn to hunt and use its natural instincts. It can not grow to be a healthy animal in someones basement. And then, when the alligator does use its natural instincts and attacks someone, people like you are going to blame the animal and he or she is going to have to be put to sleep. Theres a reason why certain animals are not pets, they do not connect with humans the way dogs do. As for the neighbors with this “wolf hybrid” I don’t think that is a good idea either however this creature does have the ability to learn and bond with humans and hopefully this isn’t some petty neighborhood fight that may now cost the lives of 2 innocent animals because humans are stupid.

  3. there both pets…….and inteligent….sheeple, u make it seem like they have no brains

  4. And wolfs/wolfhybrids are the most loyal canine you can ever have,,,someone does not know there animals

  5. The only reason animals should be removed is if living conditions are less than ideal.
If an animal is not in danger, and not being harmed….everyone needs to fuck off.
    Really.
