A 93-year-old man in Zanesville, Ohio, hit a hole-in-one on what he said would be his final round of golf ever.
“It seemed the Lord knew this was my last round,” Ben Bender told the Zanesville Times Recorder, “so he gave me a hole-in-one.”
After nearly seven decades of golf, Bender hit his magical shot on the third hole of the Green Valley Golf Club. He’d never hit a hole-in-one before.
The manager of Green Valley described Bender’s shot as “amazing,” especially in light of Bender’s performance on the first two holes: an 8 and a 7 on two Par 4s. Bender said he played a few more holes after his hole-in-one, but that his hip was hurting him and so he called it quits.
