[image-1]Early last evening around rush hour a Channel 19 news crew covering a house fire in Glenville was robbed at gunpoint by a trio of suspects.

The three males, who might have been juveniles, were wearing masks and approached the reporter and photographer around 5:30 p.m. on East 99th St.

No injuries were reported but equipment was stolen.

Station general manager Erik Schrader tells Scene, “We are simply glad our crew was uninjured. Thank you to the Cleveland Police Department for their support and assistance. The care and concern from our viewers has been appreciated. This is a great city and community, we are proud to be a part of it.”

The brazen crime was naturally the talk of Twitter.

  1. Guess it wasn’t Lydia Esparra (Cleveland’s own version of Roseanne Rosannadanna).
She’s little, but she would have kicked their asses and sent them home crying to their mamas.
