Scene readers may be familiar with Anthony Hodel, aka “Platinum Tony.” In 2005 we ran a cover story on Hodel, a fast-rising executive with a ballooning business, Platinum Warranty Corporation. The company supposedly sold car warranties, but in reality the products were bunk; Hodel was accused to scamming millions from clients before the company went bust. Last we caught up with Hodel, he was allegedly targeting student athletes, promising to match them with scholarships for a fee.
Recently Hodel was back in the news, but not for his usual tricks. On Sunday the Plain Dealer ran a full court press on deadbeat dads, including a gallery of mug shots of recent arrests. Among the flock: Anthony Hodel. According to the paper, he was arrested for failing to pay $15,610 in child support for his 9-year-old son.

AJ Hodel hired me through a freelance site. Yes its true he is the CEO of Athletic Scholarship Corporation. My job was contacting athletes via Social Media and Email for a scholarship. He just scammed me. He never pay for my work. He keeps on giving a day to pay but he is not cooperating. It was 2018 and till now I still haven’t get paid. Wondering why he do that so I tried to search for his name online and Ive read a lot of scam messages about this person. Never trust this guy.
Do you know where he is? They are still looking for him? He has multiple warrants for his arrest.
I work for Mr. Hodel in accounts payable department and the freelancer stated above didn’t perform the work and simply logged in to let the billing run. He paid her a week bonus when our systems were down with a move to AWS.

Problem is nothing changed…still scamming people and not supporting his child. There were reporters at court last time asking about his current company. Hes a POS. And he beats women. Hes a bully. I dont want to post my number on here and since I know its him commenting too, Id prefer he does not have my info. I have him blocked on everything. He currently has 3 warrants that I know about. You can check Cleveland, Strongsville and I think Hudson Ohio. 2 for felony back child support and 1 for domestic violence. I would appreciate any help apprehending him. He thinks this is a giant game and its not funny at all.
He wouldn’t pay me either. This was about 12 years ago. I started contacting his social media contacts, and he paid me.
