is running with the report that an RTA bus caught on fire on Ontario Street in downtown Cleveland this morning.

Fire crews were apparently called to the scene— between Euclid Avenue and Superior Avenue— just before 8 a.m. when smoke was spotted coming out of the rear of the bus on the left hand side.

Passengers were aboard the vehicle when it caught fire, RTA officials says, but no injuries have been reported.

@TowerLightsCLE tweeted out this view from the Terminal Tower this morning:

In case you forgot, today is Friday the 13th.

  1. IS CITY HALL COMPROMISING WITH PUBLIC SAFETY?

HOW WILL FIRE TRUCKS & AMBULANCES GET THROUGH ONCE BOTH ONTARIO STREET & SUPERIOR AVENUE ARE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC FOR 16-MONTHS DURING THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC SQUARE?

Thank God, no one was hurt in the fire!

As someone who has been protesting to LEAVE PUBLIC SQUARE ALONE since August 2014 – one of the concerns raised, in addition to the traffic gridlocks and delays in travel time because of closure of two major arteries during construction – is how fire trucks and ambulances will get through?

How will help reach vehicles caught in traffic gridlocks – once the traffic from six lanes of Ontario Street and four lanes of Superior Avenue is re-routed along the 3-lane perimeter roads – where the inner lane will be designated to the HealthLine and a vehicle stuck somewhere in the middle needs immediate attention.

After construction, while Ontario Street will remain closed, Superior Avenue will be limited to 4-lanes of bus traffic only. How will the ambulances and fire trucks get through?

City Hall has not responded to these issues despite multiple reminders.

The proposed radical $32 million makeover is to impress the Republicans who will be arriving here en masse in July 2016 for their National Convention.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

No shortage of stupidity in Cleveland, Ohio!
