I have been a longtime supporter and patron of the Cleveland Orchestra [“Sour Notes,” February 14]. The Preucils and many other orchestra members are clients of my floral business. As an owner of a creative business, I know firsthand that dissent and rumor are often a problem with employees who are putting their artistry out there every day. It is a vulnerable place emotionally.
Of my varied orchestra clients, most repect Bill as an excellent concertmaster and colleague. A few orchestra members, in my estimation, have a personal vendetta against Bill and the Preucils in general. Their attitude is poisonous to the creative process of the Cleveland Orchestra. It is a shame you have quoted these individuals without putting their biased comments in context with their often difficult relationship with the Orchestra.
