Maybe the modern Republican party is just a massive performance-art experiment. That’s as good an explanation as any for why House Minority Leader John Boehner would say with a straight face:
“It’s really time to just stop, hit the reset button, and sit down in a bi-partisan way to make out health care system better,” said Boehner.
Really, congressman? After trying to legitimize the outrageous and calculatedly divisive “death panels” nonsense, now you want to “sit down in a bipartisan way”? Even if you meant that, which you don’t, it would still be unbelievable. The people who keep voting for you may be gullible and nasty enough to fall for that, but the rest of us aren’t. To call you a clown would be an insult to clowns. You are a disgrace of a sort far worse than the many philanderers in your party because your behavior is not just hypocritical, it’s malicious and it hurts millions. — Frank Lewis
